This is a good book, practical, intelligent and informative.However, the title is slightly misleading: 'Crafting Stories for Children' means crafting *novels* for children.I had hoped, and expected, that it would cover short stories as well as full-length novels. But it's all about novels.Also, I had expected it to be about writing for children, yet a lot of space is devoted to writing for young adults (teenagers).A more appropriate title would be 'Crafting Novels for Children and Teens'.If you want advice on how to write children's short stories, this book may not be the best choice.On the other hand, if you are planning to write novels, and if you want to write for different age groups, this book is perfect.
